Q: Thanks for meeting with me! What happened on your latest buyer’s journey?

A: Some friends of ours recently went on a Disney Cruise.

They asked us to pet-sit their Beagle while they were gone, and we gladly agreed.

Beagles are awesome dogs! They have tons of energy and when you take them on walks, they LOVE to explore all of the scents. Like, where we live, the beagle we were pet-sitting probably noticed the scents of: squirrels, birds, rabbits, deer, fox, possums, opossums and possibly frogs as well.

And when you pass other dogs while you’re walking your Beagle, regardless of the size of the other dogs, the Beagle will challenge them with a lower-toned growl and bark, while leaping up onto it’s hind legs as if to say: “Oh, yeah? You think you’re tough? You wanna go? Right here. Right now. What?! What?!”

Anyway a few days later, Saturday came…I guess I should back it up a bit. On Friday I had my annual physical with my docotr.

Q: Uh-oh. How did that go?

A: Not bad. I got a pneumonia vaccination, was told to lose 5 to 10 pounds, was told I couldn’t goto the lab and get mmy blood sample drawn for further testing and analysis since I hadn’t fasted for 12 hours, and wrapped it all up with a prostate exam.

Q: Uh….no, thanks.

A: Yeah. So after that kind of Friday, Saturday began with helping a family-friend pack up their belongings into a UHAUL, in preparation for their trip to Utah.

After that, we provided the kids’ costumes and the reliable PVC pipe-cube that we used in out Trunk or Treat party as the Manger and Nativity scene re-enactment — for our church Christmas party. The Nativity and the children’s music wen great. The only problem was we missed the photo booth set up. Ergh.

Having had three vertebrae fused about 20 years ago, laying down to sleep at night was nice. It felt good.

It’s always easier to sleep when you’ve earned it. But you know what’s nicer?

Having a Beagle join you, as a heating pad.

You see, I’m the type of person who sets the heating pad on low, then turns it off when it gets too hot. Then I turn it on a few minutes later, to get more heat and soothing effects. But that’s not necessary when a Beagle joins you. They don’t overheat and neither does the area you need heated (back, right side, left side, etc.).

It was great! No Ibuprofen was needed when I woke up. No Advil, Excedrin, Aspirin, Tylenol, Aleve — nothing. It was almost as if I had gone to sleep as a somewhat older man but woke up as a 20 year old.
